About this lab

Drag points on a velocity–time graph and see the position and acceleration graphs that follow. Then match a target curve.

Ideas covered: integration, differentiation, piecewise motion.

Common questions

How do you get position from a velocity–time graph?
Position is the running area under the velocity curve: add up velocity × time for each small step. Acceleration is the opposite, the slope of the velocity curve.
